# Confirmation of residence

Find and download your confirmation of residence.

### Find the document

1. Open the **tenant portal**.
2. Open **Tenancies**.
3. Select your tenancy and open the **Documents** tab.
4. Find the **confirmation of residence** PDF.
5. Select **Show menu** next to the file.
6. Select **Download**.

### What is a confirmation of residence?

The confirmation of residence (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) confirms that you have moved into a property. The accommodation provider, usually the landlord or property manager, issues it for registration with the local registration authority.

### Do I need to contact my landlord?

For a tenancy managed through Immodio, the document is transferred to your tenant portal at the **start of the tenancy**. Once it is available, you can download it yourself. If it is missing or contains incorrect information, contact your landlord or property manager.

### What do I do with the document?

Download the PDF and provide it when registering your address with the local authority, such as the Bürgeramt or Einwohnermeldeamt. Depending on the authority, you may need a printed copy, be able to present a digital copy or upload it for online registration.
